How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsLove these books!

My 7 and 9 year olds both love these books! They are easy reads but still have enough content to keep their interest. We love them because they are educational and through a child’s prospective rather than just informational! We especially love ones that they have actually lived through or we have lived through that we can discuss. Provokes a conversation outside of the book!

1.0 out of 5 starsAlmost nothing about the actual historical events

The book is about a fictional group of kids who exist at the same time as the New Jersey shark attacks. A few times throughout the book, characters mention newspaper articles about the attacks. Other than that, the only shark sighting and attack happens in the last pages of the book. 90% of the story is about the main character trying to find his place in his new town and new group of friends. I literally apologized to my kids when we finished it.

It was sad but scary. The main character, Chet got hurt but lived. The guys pulled pranks on each other. One of the morals of the story is you cant be a hero if you dont take risks. Chet took a risk to save his friend even though his friend did not believe him.

I love the smell of a new book:s pages. This came a day earlier. My 10 year old son likes these non fiction series and I like that he's learning about history. I ordeted more they are pretty cheap and free shipping with prime. Great Christmas stocking stuffer.

I chose this rating because it was really good. I enjoy this series because it's fiction and non fiction. It is easy to read and interesting. I do recommend it to others. Written by my nine years old son

These are awesome books. My daughter's 14 and does not LOVE to read. But she read several of these "I Survived" books when she was younger and they're her favorite. They're short enough and exciting enough that she Will sit and read...which is great!!

I chose this rating because I am a big fan of sharks. but the book shows just how surprising and deadly they can be. If you didn't believe in shark attacks you don't want to test it because it a shark is hungry it will eat you.

Served for the "Historical Fiction" genre for granddaughter's monthly book review for school. Very easy reading, explains the historical event in a way that young readers (4th grade) can follow.

I bought this book through Amazon when I saw an elementary boy reading it. I really like the book! It's fast and easy to read, and based on (and includes) real happenings. There are two more books in the series, too, which I am also getting: "I survived the sinking of the Titanic," and "I survived Hurricane Katrina."

In this book Chet is living with his uncle in a new town, and going to a new school. He feels alone and unloved. He starts to feel accepted by a group of boys until they play a prank on him. That really hurts, but his uncle tells him that that is the way of boys: They play a prank on you, so now you play one back on them to show you're ready to be friends! Chet does, but it backfires; they can't handle it and stop playing with him.

Frustrated, Chet goes to their swimming hole to clean it up. Then he sees (and is almost grabbed) by a shark. However, no one believes him when he goes running into town--except one old captain. The formerly friendly boys joke about it, even "tempting" the shark--which they don't believe is real--by jumping in the creek. But...then guess who comes along, and guess who rescues the boys!

The pictures in this book are absolutely well-drawn as well.
