How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I bought this book on a whim at a bookstore (kid was freaking out, the cover looked colorful, so I threw it at the kids like a pagan sacrifice to a raging god)

But the story is adorable, and queer friendly. It’s almost like a gay chameleon love story about self acceptance.

2.0 out of 5 starsBoard Book Buyers Beware

To be clear, the story is absolutely darling. This board book printing, however, is not.

As with another recent review, the colors on the copy I received are off and this is a book about colors, so it matters. There seems to be an (extreme) oversaturation of magenta and generally the color mix is off. Everything in the book that is not green, yellow, or black is wrong. Reds look neon, browns look burnt orange, and gray is burgundy. I have an older copy of the book and the colors are accurate so this is definitely a printing issue. Until Amazon runs through (or throws out) their current stock of A Color of His Own board books, I would steer clear.

Its a cute book but stupid things about it bother me that no toddler is ever going to care about: 1. Goldfish are usually orange not red. 2. A lot of sentences start with the word "and"; which makes my inner elements teacher self cringe. 3. Some of the colors are off such as the lemon which is green in my book but says its yellow. My closing argument is that I need to like the book too if I'm going to read it to my little ones all the time and I can't get over how the publisher let starting sentences with "and" pass through editing.

It was a liiiiitle bit more used than I would have liked, there was a name on the back and the binding area was pretty worn, but I knew I was getting used so it's fine! All worth it because it's my daughters new favorite and we read it a million times a day!

My granddaughter loves this book. The story is a beautiful lesson in how you can love who you are and how if you are different, it’s definitely okay.

My child has loved this book forever. I bought the board book when she was a toddler, and I read it to her and she would “read the pictures. Now that she’s a reader, she has the paper back too.

I used this story as part of my reptile them for first grade. They then colored a chameleon outline. My students really enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short and nice storybook

It's a short story my son read in his school. He loved it so much he bought a copy for home. It's relatively easier read for him who is a second grader. But all that matters is that he enjoys the book. It's a short read, with colorful illustration and a good storyline. I would recommend it.

I bought this because we were given the stuffed chameleon toys and my baby likes having the books that match his toys. The story seems really boring to me but my baby seems to like it. He is learning colors right now so that may be why he likes it.

This book doesn't have a lot of words for the attention span of a small child. Liked the end of story of being content with who you are and finding a friend to share life experiences with. The illustrations are very good but a bit abstract.
