If only I had read it before...

I read a lot of books on running when I started and I was quickly attracted and convinced by the minimalist ones.
Because there is a lot of "purist" literature on the web, all I read belonged to one school of thought or the other, either pro-barefoot or minimal, or decidedly against it.
I decided for it, and I got injured pretty quickly; not because the concept is flawed - I still believe in it - but because my feet muscles are obviously not ready for that kind of stress after spending a lifetime in regular, thick-soled or high-heeled shoes.
I wish I had read this booklet before, because I think it takes a fair and cautious position : yes, barefoot (or lightly shod) running is great, but be careful if you're not an athlete already.
For the price, it tells you all you need to know, including some tips to check if your condition and feet are good/strong enough to go ahead, and some exercises to strenghten them if they're not.
