To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This was my first issue of Lightspeed, and I was generally impressed by the content, quality, and quantity of the work in it. I ended up reading the entire issue while in the hospital waiting room while my 15-year-old daughter was having her deviated septum corrected. It passed "the yawn test," not making me nod off once during the experience.
The Kindle edition was well-formatted for my HP Touchpad's 10" screen, and perusing the edition was relatively easy (though I spent most of my time going from front to back).
I will pick up another issue of this magazine (I selected this as my first, because I'm a fan of Ursula K Le Guin, and was definitely not disappointed by her piece), but will reserve final judgment on the Magazine as a whole until my next issue. If the next one is as good as this one, I may just subscribe.
