Stuart is a lovable third grade boy who gets into all kinds of interesting situations. He's inventive but such a worrier that sometimes I got tired of this little guy. I love Sarah Pennypacker though and her Clementine series is fantastic!
This story is cute, funny, clever, exciting, and really well written. My 5 and 7 year old boy and girl loved it, and so did I! It is now one of our favorites....and that's saying something. I REALLY hope there are more Stuart adventures to come!
My kids absolutely love Stuart and were so excited for a new addition to the series after all these years. They were so disappointed when it arrived today and found that it was just a reprint. The color illustrations were a fun bonus however.
I want more books about Stuart. He is such a cool character. This is now one of my favorite books. I love when Stuart calls the neighbors for a toast party. This reminds me of another one of my favorite series - Mercy Watson. Please write more Stuart books!!!
I'm getting tired of kids books where the theme is that the child exists in a fantasy world of their own creation. In this case the hero makes himself a superhero cape that allows him to face his numerous worries. I think young children deserve better than this, and that they can handle stories about real children doing real things. I'm finding that I am increasingly turning to older books, written at a time when authors were not so protective of the readers and listeners. The writing style and illustrations are good. It's also not clear if this is intended to be a book read by beginning readers or if it's for adults to read to (or with) their children.
