I didn't expect a lot from this book. I am reading it because I have been looking for books to read. Kemprecos name comes up often if you are a Cussler reader. I may have to try some other co-authors of Cussler in future book searches. This book by Kemprecos is okay, not great, not bad. The author gets carried away with descriptions. Did a writing teacher get him onto that track but forget to tell Kemprecos to not overdue it? Someone should be editing these books as well. Many spelling erros becumb distrctng. that said, the story was interesting. The characters were interesting, but there wasn't much depth into their psyches. The beginning of the book overdoes it on Farrell and Soc doing the blood brothers, yahoo, 'semper fi' schtick in exchange for info. Read it for an interesting story with not much suspense, a bit of mystery, a bit oft sea-faring, a bit of almost sex, a decent amount of killing and a couple of ridiculous explosions and undersea tossing-around. I'll try one more book in the Soc series.
