Parents Should Buy this Book for their Adult Children
Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2012
The biggest problem with Ed Slott's excellent book "Fund Your Future" is that it is unlikely to get the readership it so richly deserves. It has all the essential information regarding contributing to retirement plans, Roth IRAs, and Roth IRA conversions. While young people could benefit as much or even more than older investors reading Ed's other books, at least in my experience, younger investors aren't nearly as willing to actually read and implement the recommendations regarding their financial security as their parents.
Ed provides excellent advice for young investors that will put them on the path to financial security if they read his book and follow his advice. I recommend parents buy Fund Your Retirement and give it to your adult children.
Then, I fear it will collect dust (unless you buy the kindle version which is probably a better idea). Perhaps parents should do what one of my clients did with my book "Retire Secure." The client told his children "if you want to inherit any of my money, you have to read Lange's book." Perhaps that is what some parents should do to their children with Ed's fine book. " If you want to inherit any of my money, you have to read Ed Slott's "Fund Your Retirement."
