Tressider comes across with the right balance of caution and common sense. He doesn't see crook under every rock but tells you how to recognize them before they get your money. He doesn't pull punches in identifying where mainstream institutional legal fraud exists but also recognizes the honesty/work ethic of many in the industry. It is a dry subject but he gives valuable distinctions, checklists, insights in trying to evaluate if you are dealing with a legitimate salesman/investment or not. Excellent resource to have and refer to now and for future investments. It will be helpful when the siren song of high yield investment pitches are tempting you.
This is an eye opening book on the various ways you can be defrauded out of your hard earned income. Many of the examples of financial fraud discussed in the book I have personally witnessed. I am much better prepared to manage my investments after reading this book.
The information on 401k and mutual fund fees is something that I will use immediately. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to be empowered with the knowledge to recognize investment frauds. Financial mentor.com is a must see website for people serious about wealth building. This is how I came across this book and Todd tressider unique knowledge base.
This is a solid book that breaks down every way you can be ripped with investments to include key "red flags". It also gives you a useful step-by-step filter (from broad to narrow) that you can apply to every investment opportunity that you may come across. Definitely worth your time and the few books it costs in order to potentially save you hundreds of thousands over your lifetime.

Protect yourself by following all the measures outlined in this book.
This book should be part of school, that way if everyone can protect themselves from fraudsters, then fraudsters will run out of people to cheat, only then fraudsters will take up real jobs thus improving economy and society.
Every sentence in this book is a gem.
if you ever happen to be a victim of a fraudster, don't say no one could have foreseen. if you follow the recommendations suggested in this book, then you cannot become a victim.
I cant stress more on how much practical this book is.
There is an old quote taught to me in my school. Even GOD cannot find an inside fraudster. I like to say Todd can help you protect even from an inside(family and friends) fraudster.
This book gets right to the point(s) regarding the many different ways that financial "experts" and outright fraudsters can fleece you either slowly over time or with a well placed sting. The book is not long but it covers a lot of very worthwhile information. I suspect my second read of it will bring out as many new aha moments as the first one did. Definitely worth the modest investment of time and money.
