ALMOST the Old Kraft Blue Box
Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2017
So, as many people know, Kraft changed their classic blue box cheese a while back to make it appeal more to the health-conscious masses. This meant taking out all the artificial dye and replacing it with things like tumeric and paprika and then patting themselves on the back for doing such a good job because no one noticed.
Well, I noticed. Blue box macaroni tastes like earthy ass now, and I've been looking for something to scratch the itch for a while.
This stuff is the closest I've found. 95% there in terms of taste, but it does tend to clump a lot more than Kraft did. My solutions to this is to drain the noodles and stir, stir, stir, stir the noodles with just the cheese until it is mostly dissolved and then add the milk or add the cheese to warm milk and use the immersion blender and then add the noodles. Either work, the first way is easier.
So yeah, it's not all the way the same, but it is miles ahead of what they are calling blue box mac these days. Happy mac and cheesing!
