The many reviewers who gave this cookbook glowing reviews must be better chefs than me. I found the recipes to be impractical, call for at least one absurd ingredient, and require the planning of the Normandy invasion. I'm paraphrasing, but "Write out the steps for x...y...&z hours ahead. Then follow them to the letter." So many steps, so many ridiculous, complex recipes. I literally found two that seemed reasonably doable. And what's with the mustard? So many recipes call for mustard--not a favorite ingredient of mine. I think the only way this cookbook works with company is if you hire a cook to execute them, and smile triumphantly as it's placed on your dining room table. Otherwise, good luck multi-tasking while you follow endless directions while hosting chatty conversation.
