Good work on describing the work of the Coast Guard
Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2014
The author does admirably describing the work of the Coast Guard, but for my money without adequately praising their heroism and skill. Reading this story of adventurers stranded at sea was gripping and evocative to me, having spent time on the ocean and in storms enough to know first hand the terror of the power of an angry sea. The ordeal of the adventurers and others at sea is moving, but it is hard not to come back to the fact they did not have to be there and risked their lives, and many others, for a will of the wisp personal adventure. It's one thing to go to sea for fisheries or commerce and another to go for kicks. But the Coast Guard rescues them all, whatever their reason for being in harm's way.
