5.0 out of 5 starsLlama Llama, that's enough!

Mama Llama did the right thing.
A lot of parents might frown upon the mama rewarding Llama Llama with an ice cream after he throws the "mother" of all tantrums in the store. Of course this type of behavior should be addressed, but as a parent, you know your child best in the world. I would estimate Llama Llama to be no more than 3 years old. I have a son this age, and I have been able to teach better lessons by exhibiting calmness, empathy, and yet still expressing that the tantrum cannot and will not continue, and that fun can be had if we work together. If I show anger...all he sees is anger, not a mama who wants to help him. If tantrums continue, we leave the store. If he can listen and calm down, there is NO harm in rewarding their ability to control their emotions. That's a GOOD thing and should be praised in small children, who are still learning about themselves.
Anna Dewdney knows her stuff. We love this book to pieces!
