Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

I bought this to test it out for my daughter's room as an alternative to the ROKU box. She wanted something for Netflix, Hulu Plus and our 250+ VUDU movie collection. She also expressed the desire to be able to watch Blu-rays if possible. I started exploring the options for Roku box and a Blu-ray player and realized it was going to be more than I wanted to spend.
In walks the Panasonic DMP-BD89.
Netflix, Vudu, Hulu Plus and Wi-fi built in? I was interested but wary, as I had a Blu-ray player that was connected via ethernet and the Netflix interface was extremely slow. Once I hooked it up and set up everything, I took it for a spin.
I was pleasantly surprised. I would say that the Netflix and Hulu interfaces aren't quite as zippy as the Roku's is, but it's not bad and having the disc capabilities more than makes up for it. Once (i.e. if) Amazon Prime comes to this, it will be quite a good alternative for those that don't need all the Roku channels.
Wi-fi built in
Vudu (for those growing ultraviolet collections)
Remote has dedicated Netflix button for quick access.
Multi user capabilities. My daughter likes that she can customize her menus.
No Amazon steaming app as of yet and a vague "coming soon" on every official answer I've seen for the last 6 months.
Netflix app is still older version without profile options. Hopefully they will update soon so my daughter can see her own queue. (*update Now has Profile options of the Netflix app.)
Using the Amazon Marketplace, I was able to get this for less than the cost of the entry model Roku. I feel what I got more than makes up for what I gave up.
