Okay, could have been better

The first book in this small series was extremely fascinating for me--Union Street Bakery. I loved the family history discoveries. I was disappointed that the sequel, Sweet Expectations, did not mention one word about Daisy's family connection to the bakery and the current family there. If you have not read the first book you would never get a hint of the historical connection between Daisy and the bakery. A brief mention of this fact would have made the book perfect for me. I could not help but think that anyone who had not read the first one could not possibly get the real impact of the second scenario. It was almost like an entirely different author had written Sweet Expectations. My goodness, the fact that Daisy's mother had abandoned her (which was very well covered in the first book) was mentioned many, many times. Yes, we totally get that fact many times over.
