A Stunning Collection of Dark Microfiction
Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2020
This collection of very short stories, ranging from 25 words on up, is not a quick, easy read for a summer's day. These tales are DARK. They deal with death, sorrow, divorce, dysfunctional families, loveless unions, poverty, and abuse. Yet the author takes these ugly facts of life and turns them into beautiful artworks through masterful use of words, and turns of sentences. These stories did not make me feel good, but their power and exquisite language drew me in. Bravo, Mr Thurber.
