This Calphalon pan replaces a previous Calphalon pan that was used virtually every day for 16 years. After those 16 years the replaced pan showed no signs of wear but for some reason it lost its no-stick properties after frying up some deer sausage recently. Judging from information on the web 16 years is a long life for a teflon pan.
This one will be used exclusively for eggs, which I scramble in olive oil. I use a Calphalon plastic spatula, the same one used for 16 years with the previous Calphalon pan.
While this is not strictly speaking an omelet pan it has a nicely radiused transition from the bottom to the sides so it works as an omelet pan very nicely. It also has a ridge at the top of the sides to hold an optional top, which I did not purchase.
