This is the book I have been looking for. Author provides clear-cut facts backed up with evidence. For the person who wants the Cliff's Notes to nutrition with studies to back it you, this is for you. I've read many books on nutrition, but I learned a lot from the helpful tips in this book, such as Vit D kills fat cells, milk is an MCT and LCT, so taken in small doses can help you lose wieght, it is when taking too much at a time that it gets stored to fat.
The author is against the Ketogentic diet. My husband is on Keto and his health has greatly improved. I found the author to have a lack of depth of understanding of Keto, but it was easy to bypass.
Author recommends an 'Iso' diet, which he talks about, but doesn't explain till later in the book, which is a diet based on 1/3 carbs, protien, & fat. I cannot do keto and like the idea of the iso diet.
I am going to buy the book for my teen son for a homeschool lesson in nutrition. The format is simple enough for daily lessons
This book is simple and informative. I didn't really need something that was too in-depth. In this case, I wanted what I got which was basically a list of ways to improve metabolish with an explanation. I didn't want anything complicated or over-explaining.
A nice little book that will help you decide to do a bunch of really good things for your weight and your life. I like the iso concept—calories from fat, carbs and protein should be balanced, roughly 33% each.
