Nice filter with some drawbacks.

Nice filter, but definite drawbacks to consider. Installed on my 2015 Highlander with Mobile 1 0w20. The plastic part that drains the oil from the filter is threaded and screws into the filter body where the metal plug that you remove with 3/8 socket sits. I found it hard to get the plastic threads aligned with the metal filter housing. Not surprising since any plastic on metal threading is usually difficult to align and the plastic threads will bind to the metal counter threads. As a result the filter drained very slowly and took forever to fully drain. After 15 minutes, I finally just unscrewed the filter body and dealt with the remaining oil that dumped onto my hand. The OEM toyota filter has a plastic valve that snaps into the filter body which results in a foolproof connection (versus screwing it into the threaded body) and quickly drains the remaining oil. I much prefer the snap on valve for that reason. Also, OEM filter comes with a replacement crush washer for the drain bolt. The Fram filter does not so you have to buy this separately, unless you want to reuse the old one, which is not recommended. Next time, I'll stick with the OEM filter from toyota.
