This is the final book in The Rose Trilogy. It was bittersweet reading this book knowing that it was the last book in the trilogy. Without giving any spoilers away...I was surprised at how some of the things progressed in the book. It was an emotional ride, but it was a good emotional ride. It is hard to write a review and not give away any spoilers. Let me just say that I love this book. I love how it ended and I highly recommend this series and this author!!!

YAY, finally, the last book from The Rose Trilogy by Tish Thawer is here and I had the chance to read and review it! I really fell in love with the two first books and the novella, so I was eager to learn how this story would end!
I loved to read about Meredith and Jeremy kind of life now that Rose wasn't in the picture anymore. The action was, as usual, non-stop and really gripping and the best part was about Rose.
It was awesome to read about Rose' transformation into an hybrid. It was dark, powerful and dangerous. The mystery surrounding her transformation and wondering what she will become was well builded. Her life had only one purpose now and it was feeding and destroy the ones that caused her pain.
Meredith got a bit on my nerves but I think it was on purpose. She the ''bad guy'' and even if her actions/behavior seems to make sens from her point of view (for the greater good of her race), I think she deserve everything that happened to her. She was a total bitch!
Christian's feelings were so intense toward Rose and what is happening to her. He thought he took the right decision but after what Rose has become, doubts is lurking in the back of his mind. Poor Christian, always looking for the best for his love, to make her happy and everything seems so difficult and far away!
Unfortunately there was a point that bother me: What I liked the most in the first books was the growing relation between Rose and Christian. In the third book, the emphasis was more on Christian and Loraine (Rose mother) and Meredith' campaign. Both were interesting but the main subject in this trilogy was the relation between Rose and Christian, plus, the history surrounding vampires, demons and their rivality. I was left unsatisfied on Rose and Christian part.
Even if I would have loved to read more about Rose and Christian together, the storyline was enough gripping and hold me hostage and to continue reading!
The final step in The Rose Trilogy is a must if you have started to read the first books or if you are looking for a YA/Adult paranormal romance with vampires and demons!

The final is here. And what an ending it was!
I think this book was by far the best in this series, certainly packs a punch!
Rose is a vampire....but somehow due to the grief and loss she has endured in the last year of so has taken its toll..she's starting to turn into something otherworldly and completely non-existent!
Rose is dark, darker than any vampire Evie & Christian have come across.
Is there hope for Rose?
Will Christian be able to save his love?
Christian wakes from his slumber after turning Rose into a Hybrid, to find she's disappeared. Rose awakens before the setting of the sun (yes something vampires can't do) and decides she needs to speak to her dad and sort Meredith out once and for all.......Yes I can understand what you're thinking....what's going in?
When Rose see's her dad she's mortified, he seems so happy to be with her after everything Rose told him in the previous book.
Rose goes off on the deep-end, becoming something no-one thought possible.
Little does Rose know, but Meredith has forged a blood bond with Jeremy and she is controlling him, she has wiped ALL of his memories of Rose, so to him she never existed, he doesn't have a daughter. What kind of sick weirdo pulls that crap? Meredith is such a BITCH even I want to extract revenge on her.
We follow the journey Christian embarks on finding his true love, his consort, his life.
We see more of Justin & Jillian in this book as they tag along with Christian to help find Rose.
We see Meredith turning more slightly nuttier, if someone as crazy as she can get. She is hell-bent on the blood lust and seeks advice from her grandmother, that doesn't go down well. We see that the baby is she is carrying is somehow becoming something more.
We are thrust into the Mayan history and mythological occurrences whilst reading this truly amazing story.
We learn of the fate that Rose is to embark on.
At one point in this book and I can't divulge yet I was crying, because of what was happening between Rose & Christian, they have been through sooooo much heartache and loss, to experience it all over again, is awful and for them to come out of it stronger than ever is amazing.
I Thoroughly enjoyed reading this whole series and would like to give a massive thank you to Tish for writing such exciting work, definitely would recommend to everyone to read!
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book for review.
Death of a Black Rose is the third and final installment in Tish Thawer's "Rose Trilogy" and I have been waiting to get my hands on it for about a year and so was thrilled to be able to read the ARC. These books have a totally original vampire type mythology and throws in a healthy dose of demonology for good measure.
This book did not go at all the way I had expected it to but I wasn't disappointed in the least. When I got to the end I have to admit that this was the way things should have ended up although I would never have been able to predict it. An amazing mix of description and character development with the changing point of views you really get a feel for what is going on in the world but each voice is so distinctive I never felt I had to double check which perspective I was getting at any one time.
If you love the paranormal genre, especially if you are looking for a new vampire read then you really should give this series a try. Even better for you with the final installment going on sale next week you can avoid the tortuous wait that I had to endure lol.
