How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

4.0 out of 5 starsGreat plot! I'd like to see Grey Porter & Elena Sturm together again.
Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2022
McBride, author, builds his story a bit longer than I'd like & then dad blame it he doesn't answer the important questions : what species is the killer? How will the creature find family with her family gone? Very often McBride leaves the principal characters, you are avidly following, flat. No what now? If their ideals have changed what will they do now? I'll say one thing you can't just pick up one of his books, thinking you will just read a few pages before bed. His books are addicting darn it! I kid you not I feel their tendrils wrapping around my mind & I console myself mumbling five more minutes just five more minutes! The author manages to hit my uncomfortable zone in settings time & again, crawling through mud, feces of the homeless, urine, in the dead of winter YUK! I love how thorough his research is & the plots are never limp & lifeless. I'd love a sequel get Porter & Sturm on a job again. Looking for value for your buck you've found it with this author.

Like a weak episode of The X-Files. Without Scully and Muldaur.
Rather boring and by the numbers. This is the second bad one by .mcBride I've read in a week. No mas!

"Predatory" is written by the master storyteller, MIchael McBride and it races toward an end like a sonic boom. A perfect story, perfect characters, and it makes you ask: how does he do this? Right now, get this book, get comfy, and start reading. I've already begun another McBride book and it's definitely a winner!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Human Instinct...

Predatory Instinct has been added to my list all all-time favorites from Mr. McBride; just don't ask me what order they go in. Michael McBride has a way of not only drawing you into a story but also of making the story real - personal - and Predatory Instinct is no exception to this. Reminiscent of Relic, the first book in the Preston/Child Pendergast series, Predatory Instinct is more suspense/thriller than horror and excellently executed.

A new hominin species is discovered in Siberia. A seemingly abandoned ship is found with the entire crew brutally murdered on Seattle's coastline. It's soon apparent that the homeless aren't the only ones living underground below Seattle's old and soon-to-be renovated waterfront as the killing continues.

I hated putting this book down and I hated when it ended. Vicious and heartbreaking, Predatory Instinct blurs the line between our perception of good and bad and is one that will make you question who the monster really is.

This was an excellent, believable story. Lots of action and credible situations. Who knows what lurks in the little-explored regions of this world? Good stuff!

If somebody blended the movie Splice with Jurassic Park, they might get something like this book. It’s fast paced and yet you still have a chance to get to know characters. I highly recommend this book.

Better everything....If I didn't know better, I would say that the author had been abducted by cone-headed mutant/aliens himself. Great Reading!
