To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I got a whole bunch of "I Can Read!" paperbacks for the grandkids, including some Pete the Cats, Digger the Dinosaur, Axel the Truck, and so on. This was the slightest of the books.
It's shorter than most "I Can Read!" books. Lots of pages are just "chug-a, chug-a, choo-choo". The story is a variation on the tortoise and hare, but the point of the story just barely comes across.
The drawing is bright and colorful and has more interesting bits of business around the edges than the usual bare-bones "I Can Read!" illustrations, so I guess it's fair to say that this is more of a picture book than an early reader. Of course, if your tyke is a Thomas the Train Engine enthusiast this is a nice variation on that style.
