Top positive review
The price makes them look throwaway, but they're not.

Over the years, I've gone through a lot of earbuds in the $35-and-under price range. I've bought a lot of cheap earbuds; I tend to beat, tangle, tear, submerge, dirty, and lose them. So I'm unwilling to spend on audiophile quality for earbuds, and feel that one looking for such quality should be looking at large Sennheiser or other cans instead.
These are unquestionably the best-sounding very cheap earbuds I have ever owned, appropriate for a wide range of musical genres, and sound better than some earbuds for which I have paid three times the price. Not audiophile quality, but a pretty good mix of richness and clarity, and with superiority over Skullcandy, Sony (not a surprise with these brands, I know), and other earbuds I've tried immediately noticeable.
I've now bought several pair to keep in various locations, and while originally I thought 8-to-9 USD was a steal, at time of this writing the price is in the 7 USD range.
Bonus: one pair went through the laundry, and after I let them dry for a few days, worked fine!
