How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsAn Exciting Series
Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2017
I read the 3 book box set first, then Presidential Shift, and I'm loving this series. I'm ready for the next book! Presidential Shift had so many twists and turns in it that I was always surprised about the direction it was taking, and the final twist was in the last few pages and totally unexpected. These books are interesting, fast paced, and have wonderfully developed characters that you begin to really forward to seeing in each novel. It has been a long time since I've read any military type novels, and these are so enjoyable. I barely finish one and am already looking up the next. I get antsy waiting for books to come out in a series, so finding a series that already have a lot of books in them is really a treat. I'm ready to start book 5, and this series already has 13 books in it, so I have a lot to look forward to without waiting, and I think more will be out by the time I get to the last one.

3.0 out of 5 starsC.G.Cooper one of my new favorites
Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2015
This was a most enjoyable adventure for a short airplane ride. It totally absorbed my attention with rapid onslaught of action, thrills and chills and a political perspective that might be entirely plausible given these interesting times. C.G. Cooper has written in the style reminiscent of Dale Brown, one of my favorites, and yet less convoluted than the style of Tom Clancy. If you are interested in an hour or two of action packed military style thriller, this is a great read. I'm just a touch disappointed in being left with the sense that all military combat experts become some sort of mercenary or that security companies are filled with mercenaries. Neither, of course, is true. But it's a fun read and kept me occupied certainly. I highly recommend it. I note also that C.G. Cooper has an entire cottage industry growing up around his novels and I like the entrepreneurial spirit. Although he makes it available, there was nothing to report to his "grammar police". That's also a great reflection on his entries in this genre and his operation.

Complete Waste of Time. I bought the book because of the price (.99) but it was not a wise choice. I only finished reading it because I had already paid for it.

Simply stated, this is just awful. The writing is amateurish; there is no depth to the story or characters. It is a comic book in novel form. Save your time and money.

Lots of unbelievable action and beyond credible feats of daring. Much too mindless for me. Spend your money somewhere else.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Book

I would say this book is a waste of paper, but since I tried reading it digitally I can just say it was a waste of time. "Tried" is the right word, because I only got about a fifth of the way through before giving up. The characters were two-dimensional at best, the premise was not believable, and the writing was elementary school level. I'm a fairly forgiving reader, but there was way too much wrong with the first one-fifth of this book to make me even mildly curious about the remaining 80 percent. My recommendation: Find something else to read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fair, at best.

In the first pages this seemed like it would be an interesting story. After that the degree of suspension of belief needed by the reader became quite large. Character development was questionable. One new character was introduced and quickly became accepted by others with almost no rationale or reason. The quick cuts from "scene-to-scene" toward the end of the book made it feel like the author was targeting translation to an hour-long TV drama.

While I enjoyed the start of this series I felt that this book "jumped the shark" and will not be buying more along this line.

The author seems proud of himself for knowing the words''simper fi'' too bad he doesnt understand their meaning. The main character is watched closely by his employees because they all seem To think he is suffering from Ptsd. Top bad the author does't understand the effects Of ptsd. The author seems more interested in pushing his agenda instead Of giving us à good story.

Too predictable and not worth reading. A rather thinly veiled story based on some prejudicial views of the author about current politics.
