Top critical review
Too many loose ends, and too much "in the nick of time" appearances.

Day Zero took a while to get going, but it was an amusing story. The cliffhanger is not fair to the reader. We were left with a huge cliffhanger on the last book, and now this. At no point were we told how some people miraculously got back from remote places, especially when they had a price on their heads. I really like the characters in Jericho and Mattie, Thibodeaux, Garcia, etc, but enough with the formulaic, "Just in the nick of time, XXX shows up".
