This pissed me off!
"A woman who appeared to be at least fifty, certainly old enough to know that her bird legs and paunchy tummy didn’t qualify her to wear the short skirt she had on,..."
Then describing the same woman he wrote, "woman in the long woolen skirt, though the day was too warm for such attire. She was in her fifties, with thin, gray hair, the color and texture of bread mold.
Olsen, Gregg. A Wicked Snow (p. 196). Pinnacle Books. Kindle Edition.
He's never been that cruel in describing any male character, never said their body "didn't qualify (him) to wear..." It's attitudes like that responsible for the consistent dissatisfaction of women with their bodies regardless of how they actually look.
