Same concentration as children's version. Why is it so purple?!

I bought this to give to my 2 month old when he got his vaccinations. When he went for his checkup the doctor informed me that all liquid tylenols (except extra strength) have the same concentration (160 mg/5 mL) which I checked and the children's tylenol is also this concentration, but half the price. The benefit of the infant version is that it comes with a syringe since you only need to give your little one about 1 mL. Not sure if the children's version comes with syringe, but If you already have one, I would buy the children's version instead. You might be able to get a syringe from your local pharmacist for free. Also, the color of this is very purple. My son tends to spit it out and it ends up staining his clothes. We have to give it to him naked. Why oh why is it so purple? I wish they hadn't used dye and let it just be clear.
