The answer is very simple. Paint it yourself or get sued. The only free images are from the US Government. (Only until the Republicans find out they exist. Then they will be gone too.) Thus the book is very short and to the point. "Don't copy that image from the internet!" Could have put that in the title. Still, the book is cheap, and you need to know this before you grab an image and use it. Copyright law is pretty complex. So forget the title. Pay the megabucks for the lawyer or get out your paintbrush. Ms. Sedwick provides good advise even thought her title is totally contradicted by the content of her book. She could have at least provided a chapter on how to protect the image you painted for your book. Or a chapter on,
"you just paid an artist mucho dinero, now what." But those chapters are not there. So, off you go to your lawyer.
