I get the manic "Underpants" sorts of books, as well as some of their less coherent knockoffs. But they can be a bit exhausting, and sometimes hard for younger readers to follow. This book, with the cosmic wiener angle, the kidnapped princess, and the evil galactic villain, didn't necessarily look promising. Well, my bad. The plot is antic, but easy enough to follow. There are obvious gags, but also some more subtle throwaways for older or more experienced readers. The whole project has a good-natured vibe, and the drawings sell the story, so it's all good.
