I have read everything that Wendy Wax has written and this offering does not disappoint! I strongly recommend this book for a great read with witty dialogue and inciteful plot twists that keep the reader engaged until the very last page. A bargain at any price!

Stupid storyline ... So not what I have come to expect from Wendy Wax!

This book was unbelievable friendship. It was not about love or even like. Simply deceit and the ending was a total fail. One star is too much. Hope she gets back to a good storyline.

I am a fan of Wendy Wax and enjoy all of her books. I especially liked the books starting with 10 Beach Rd, then Ocean Beach, The House on Mermaid Point and Christmas at the Beach(Ten Beach Road Novella). Loved While We Were Watching Downton Abbey as well. The Accidental Bestseller was great as well as Magnolia Wednesdays.
I haven't read Wendy's very early books but have never been disappointed in all of the ones I named above. Will always buy a new book when it appears.

A Week at the Lake is a very good read for Summer. There were some twists to the plot and I was able to determine what they were early on. some of the other things were not as expected and it took a while to decipher. This book shows you have dear it is to have good friends that love you no matter what. The beginning was tense and some of the background of characters may have been developed more. There were some questions that I had that were not fully articulated but it was a very good read.

Very enjoyable book and much better than her last book. Her characters were very well defined and you were able to identify with all the women in the story. The story moved along at a good pace with good dialogue. Wish the author hadn't dropped quite so many hints as to what secret Emma was keeping because I was able to figure it out before it was revealed and a more surprising ending would have been nice. It's worth reading.

I always look forward to Wendy Wax's new releases and this one was no exception. The characters were well developed and the plot moved forward with the right degree of suspense. Although the ending was a bit contrived, it was more about the journey of the women involved more so than the ending. Although, I have to say the ending is all we have come to love in Ms. wax's writings.

I have read all her books and especially love that they usually have a funny, wonderful southern woman as a character. Story of Three Best Friends

After reading other reviews I wondered about this book. Have read all of Wendy Wax's books, some of which I liked, some I didn't. Not sure what there was about this book but it resonated with me. Three friends, life happens, secrets and half truths and whether friendships from long ago can survive. The interaction between Emma, Mackenzie and Serena made the reader long for the best friends from long ago. How the three of them dealt with actions taken long ago are not really evident until the end of the book, although the reader can certainly get hints throughout the second half of the book.

I would have given this book five stars except for how slowly it started. I like to dive right in and while recognizing the need to develop and plot the story line, I almost gave up initially; however, I certainly am glad that I did not. Only wish there had been an epilogue so readers knew how it all turned out. Maybe in another book?

That said, if you're a fan of best friends stories this is a great summer read.
