Even with a pro install, this car seat slips and tilts under normal driving conditions.

Although I love the color, the price, the ease of strap adjustment, and being able to keep my little one rear-facing for longer than outgrown travel system car seat, this car seat will not work for us. My husband tried installing it first and said the only way to get it tight enough was to use a pulley device that we have for taking our pool net on and off. I insisted there had to be a way to install it securely without specialized pool equipment, but when I tried installing it just before taking it to the fire department to get an inspection install, I could not get it anywhere near tight enough on my own. So the fire department reinstalled it without using any special tools, just adding a foam block to get the seat at the right tilt, and it was tight when checking it. The problem is that even when it is tight, and is subjected to normal amounts of driving (no hard stops, no accidents), it wanders on my bench seat. Specifically, it wanders towards the crack between the middle seat and the passenger side seat, and lodges one of its 'feet' firmly into the crack so that the seat becomes lopsided and impossible to keep at the proper tilt on both sides required for safety. The photo shows the car seat less than a week after installation by the experts at the fire department. It seems to me that the way the "feet" are designed is a big part of the problem, as they are very narrow, and actually have very little plastic in contact with the seat of the car. Maybe it would be stable and work fine if you don't have breaks between seats, but I am returning mine and going back to Graco.
