The subtitle of this book is misleading: While every letter may, in fact, tell a story, what the author has done is tell his own story about every letter. For example, "C" is for "cipher," and we learn all about codes, his parents' penchant for acrostics, and on and on--but nothing whatsoever about the letter itself.
"Alphabetical" should be considered an autobiography rather than a book about the history and development of our current A-Z. If you're interested in the author's life as an English schoolboy, then go for it. If you're looking for actual information, pass this one by.
