How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsStory content.
Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2019
This is a great story as it stands alone, but the illustrations are amazing too. It has such a positive message with an
encouragement towards adventure, but their is the piece about home being there when you return. We all need to know home will be there for us upon our return from wherever we return from. The combination of both pieces makes for a absolutely wonderful book for a child or and adult. I collect children's books and have for 20 years. It is important to look at the content of the story and illustrations can be so important too. As a mother, paraeducator, and now a grandmother, I believe books open doors, expand thoughts and ideals, give hope and so much more.

My son didn't like it much. I guess it is long for him. Plus he found some illustration dark. For example, this is 3rd page and as soon as he sees this he closes the book. Now, I don't open it because as soon as he sees front he says, "another book mommy"

Bought this book for my step daughter to have her teachers in every class, every year, write something until she graduates. It's a cute and sweet book and she loves it! I make sure to read it to her so that she will know the book when her dad and I give it to her at her graduation <3

1.0 out of 5 stars So disappointing!!

The illustrations are good and that’s about it. Don’t know what all the great reviews are about. It’s a book about roads? How do explain roads to a toddler when the illustrations are all animals and cars? The story is so lame, I get that there’s suppose to be a message but it’s not executed well at all. It actually doesn’t tell a a story at all. It just talks about roads, how they swerve or go under a bridge but you can’t even really see the road in the pictures. My child got bored and kept asking about the bunny on the cover. Really a big disappointment.

Bought for my granddaughter who's turning 13 next month.
I cried when I read it. It's so appropriate in so many ways.
A wonderful gift for old and young.

Both my 7 year old son and I adore this book. It’s a fun adventure to read each time. The images are endlessly fascinating and engaging with animal characters doing all sorts of activities in lively fascinating towns, villages, cities and in nature. There is so much detail that there’s always something new to look at. There are few books like this that get both my son and I this excited to read more than once and gets so many smiles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lyrical text and fantasy-like illustrations

This book gives a child a sense of adventure as well as the safety of a place to come home to. The text is lyrical and the illustrations are intricate and delightfully fantastical. My toddler grandson asks for this book to be read over and over again. Plus they introduce him to the idea of riding a bicycle!

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully illustrated, not really a interesting message for very young kids
Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2020

This book is absolutely beautiful, but it has no story. My daughter is 18 mos. and loves kids books with lots of words (Corduroy, Pancakes Pancakes, Harry the Dirty Dog) . But not this book. Despite the beautiful pictures (which she could care less about), it has a lot of words with a very meaningful and sentimental message about travel & exploration, but it's a very adult message. It's similar to some other overly sentimental books for babies and young children I've seen that (my daughter at least) has not been interested in at all.
It seems geared more towards the adults reading the books than the kids listening to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great illustrations!

I don't usually review books, but this is by far the best children book I've ever bought!
While the poetry is nice, the book's illustrations really make it stand out.
Our 2,5 year old loves it, and requests it every night!
The images are of a picturesque animal land, where a rabbit will meet other animals, and travel to some part of his world.
The images are well thought out, and they have a lot of detail in them, allowing you to find new things, every time you re-read the story.

Personally, the poetry is beyond my 2,5 year old's capacity to understand, but the pictures fit well with a nice self-invented story.
Not to be proud, but my 2,5 year old is ahead of her age, mentally.
So if you have a 3 to 3,5 year old, and need a book, this book is by far the best read!

Unlike so much junk that's been sold, the author of this book, really put thought to the details;
And it's those details, combined with the nice scenery, that make this book worthwhile!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this book.

I purchased this book for my 3 year old.

I like that it's a board book with more than one sentence on the page. We are at stage between "baby" books and paragraph books. So the little bit of extra is nice.

The message is sweet and enduring. A particularly nice message to read while we are in quarantine type days. It's a lovely reminder that one of these days we will be going and doing again.

It's also a nice message to for your child that when they grow up and travel the roads the of life that they can always return home.

The illustrations are beautiful.
