My 8 year old is crazy about this series! At first I had to convince him to give them a try and read past the first few chapters in the first book.. well now he is reading them in 2 nights flat, he likes to stay up late, and he is always asking for the next book in the series. So I take that as a great sign. He is always excited to tell me what happened in the book each morning and love the adventures the kids go on. We home school and I love to find longer books that keep him reading. So well written and will keep ordering from this series as well as this author.
I love the plot unfolds, though I am a bit sad that the series has ended. I do hope that she writes another book in the series, or maybe a companion book. Overall, I think this book was really good, and I definitely recommend this.
Everything Susan Selfors has written is excellent, intriguing, and fun. My seven year old has read all of the I.V. books and the To Catch a Mermaid book. Susan is an excellent author. From grammar, form, and writing techniques to progression of story line, all are EXCELLENT!
My three boys love these books. Makes for fun reading and keeps them interested especially boys rather than girly books available. Always waiting for the newest book for new creatures to admire and adventure to be had by Pearl and Ben.
I loved this book but to be fair, I loved them all. This was a great series for all 3 of my boys, I read to them every night. This book and the series as a whole had us laughing out loud. The boys would beg me to read another chapter and they were looking forward to reading every night.
Purchased all books in the Imaginary Veterinary series for my 6 year old granddaughter who is in the first grade. She reads between a second and third grade level. She loves these books because they provide a healthy dose of fantasy while offering opportunities for the young reader to explore real life problem solving strategies.
