I read this book to my granddaughter's nursery school class. These four year olds loved it! I t is well suited to this age group. The pictures are delightful. The story is simple and engaging. Wonderful picture book!
Bear and Hare go outside and discover snow. They catch snowflakes on their tongues. Then they make tracks in the snow, snow angels, a snow hare and snowballs. Finally, they go sledding. The illustrations are really cute. The pages in this book are very thick which will help them hold up well to little hands. The story is simple but not boring. This is a great addition to your baby through first grader’s winter reading list. This is a favorite at our house.
Not as good as Bear and Hare play hide & seek but son still loves it. He loved the former before his first birthday so we bought another but it has fewer words & thicker pages (aimed at younger children?) but concepts they won’t understand (footprints & snow angels - so aimed at older children? Perhaps now reading for themselves?)
Disappointing, bought for Christmas for my 2 and a half year old granddaughter, very little story and the illustrations were not particularly appealing to her either. One small point to mention was that two pages were actually stuck together and when pulled apart some of the page tore. Had the book been something that I felt she would enjoy time and again, I would have sent it back for a replacement. Not a patch on the Julia Donaldson books!
