Tim Curran's version of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed this western by Tim Curran. I have read virtually all his books and love his horror novels, but was pleasantly surprised how good he is a writing westerns. The characters in this novel drive this tale of revenge. From the protagonist Nathan Partridge a gunslinger/outlaw that you will enjoy rooting for to the truly evil and despicable bounty hunters, each character is fleshed out well. I really felt I was experiencing the old west in all its raw and visceral glory. The novel is full of classic Curran descriptions of ultra-violence from gunfights and Indian tortures to cannibal dinner scenes. As the story moves along, there are many really cool flashbacks and little vignettes that add to the overall flavor of the novel. Although there is nothing supernatural like many of his other novels, some of the evil human characters he creates are much worse. If you enjoy movies like Outlaw Jose Wales and other classic spaghetti westerns, then you will love Grim Riders. It would make a great movie!
