Unexpected ending, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading THE HUNTER'S PRAYER.

THE HUNTER’S PRAYER is the fifth novel by Kevin Wignall that I’ve read. The other five are A DEATH IN SWEDEN; THE TRAITOR’S STORY; A FRAGILE THING; and TO DIE IN VIENNA. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading all five novels. When I first started reading them, I was worried that they’d be a “formula” mass market type mystery suspense novel (i.e., basically the same story told slightly different). This was not the case. Each of the novels was unique and different; but they are the same in that setting is in Europe, lots of people die, and each novel has a strong male character.
I thought THE HUNTER’S PRAYER was slightly better than the other four novels. The ending was completely different than I expected. It was so different that I had to re-read the last few pages to make sure that I read what I had read.
THE HUNTER’S PRAYER is a novel that I would consider re-reading again in 10+ years. That to me is a sign that the book is worthy of five stars.
