Fritz FomBie Have No Fear is a delightful, whimsical refreshing children’s book. The backdrop of the story develops Fannie as a strong young girl who has multiple fears and with the help of Fritz, her friend Abbie, brother Benny and even Buz turn Fannie into a strong leading character. The Author develops with humor and whimsy the relationships between Fannie, Abbie and Benny. The friendship between Fannie and Abbie describes true first friendships that develops with understanding and has the opportunity to last a lifetime. Fannie and Benny are at the age where Benny matures and realizes his sister needs him and that he can save the day. Even though his efforts are ruined Fannie clearly sees the effort with the help of Fritz. The story concludes with a great cliffhanger that gives the once frightful Fannie and team to become the savior of her mentor Fritz!
In addition to the story are the great illustrations that are also drawn by the author. I have had the opportunity to attend several events where the author, T. E. Antonino read excerpts from Fritz FomBie and he ended with an interactive an art lesson. Children between 4th – 8th grades attended the first event. I was surprised by the receptiveness, questions and full participation in both the reading and art session. The second reading was for a younger audience of 3-5 years of age and the authors animated reading kept their attention! I highly recommend Fritz FomBie Have No Fear.
