Meh. You get what you pay for.

The fact that it's a bundle of eleven FREE books is what gives it five stars.
The fact that, so far, every single one of them are first volumes to series that, in order to continue said series, the following volumes must be purchased separately has knocked off a star.
The fact that, so far, the writing has ranged from "this-is-so-bad-my-brain-is-imploding" to "meh. It's okay" has knocked off a second star.
To be fair, I've only gotten through three of the books so far. The second one is the ONLY one where I've even considered looking up the following volumes, but even then I hesitate because the author falls into the "meh. It's okay" category in regards to grammar and writing errors. But the plot was actually interesting enough and I liked her characters and writing enough to want to keep reading. The fact that it ends on a massive cliffhanger certainly has something to do with it, too. :P
As for the rest, well, until I actually FINISH the third book (which has proven to be incredibly BORING thus far), I guess I'll be withholding final judgement. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they get better from here.
