Great investment in your health

I work in the Tech Field and I love new gadgets, especially useful ones. I am like the rest of the world, fighting middle age and trying to live healthier. This is easy to use even if you are not a techie and it gives you peace of mind that you are doing something positive. The Fitmotion app was easily downloaded and installed. The unit easily pairs via Bluetooth to the app and transfers data, the lights do a special data transferring dance to let you know you have successfully paired with the app. You tap the unit twice rapidly with your finger and it lets you know that it is alive, you tap it three times rapidly at night before going to bed and the lights do a little sleepy time dance to let you know it is going in to sleep register mode. This thing keeps track of all your daily activities and it is so small and light you don't even realize you are wearing it. It is attractive as well. I wear a suit to work and I did not feel dorky at all wearing it with a tie and dress shirt, or with sweats going to the gym. The designers did really well.
Now for some of the facts:
The app has great Quick Start Instructions if you need any help setting it up or retrieving data.
You must put in all your personal data into the app for it to work, like Birth date, Gender, Height and Weight. It will calculate your BMI.
The main screen of the app tells you how many miles, steps and calories burnt in a single day. With numbers and graphs, for those who like a visual representation of your progress. It has a full calendar history with weekly totals of walking, distance and calories. All really easy to navigate and very self explanatory. Swipe up on the screen to go to the activity log and sleep log. The sleep log tells individually to a single decimal exactly how much time you spent sleeping Poor, Bad, Normal, sound or Deep. Also with total time slept. Numbers and graphs again!
In the top left hand corner you can set your daily target to inspire you compete against yourself. It tells you if your goal is Advanced, Intensive or Normal.
The greatest part about the app is the daily calorie counter, in fact when my wife seen this, she begged me to get her one too. You tap on the calorie box in the top left corner, it allows you to enter all the food that you eat throughout the day. It keeps track of your food consumption, and calorie intake. It directly compares it with your activity level and calories burnt throughout the day. It is almost like a game show to see which side is winning. Great fun!
One negative that I noticed, sometimes you have to try and sync with your phone more than once because it does not sync right away. I am not sure if it is a bug in the app or my Samsung phone?
At the end of the day you just press Sync & Connect, the lights do the little dance and it takes care of everything by itself. I am getting my wife one so that we can be on the same path together.
