My unit arrived last night. I was surprised at how tall it is, but that isn't a problem with this. It was very east to assemble, the few parts simply and easily snap together. This unit is different than other models and brands that I have used before, so I did have to go through the manual a bit, before trying it out.
I have to say this vacuum is IMPRESSIVE! -Although it is a bit top-heavy, the swivel steering makes this extremely easy to use, and it glides across the carpet quite easily! -It's like driving a brand new Cadillac straight out of the showroom floor! -And..the amount of dirt and dust this machine picks up, that my old B****** left behind, is nothing short of amazing! -I am having to constantly empty the dust cup, which is not an issue at all, and this will improve with time and repeated use. -It is simply getting up all of the funk, dust, and deep-down dirt that my old one left behind!
I am just beginning to learn how to use this machine, so have yet to use all of the features, but I must say that it's cleaning power and ease of use so far, is beyond impressive! -I have DDD, DJD, and OA, with herniated discs in my lower spine. I had such a difficult time vacuuming my carpets with other brands I have used before, including B******, H****r, and K***y. -This Shark makes cleaning much easier. -I am actually looking forward to cleaning the stairs, and other parts of my home again! GREAT UNIT AND I DEFINITELY GIVE IT 5 STARS!

The suction is fine, the brush USED TO WORK fine, and the vacuum has a built-in propulsion system, so it pulls the unit forward to ease in pushing it across thick carpet. It's a lot quieter than the Hoover vacuum it had replaced. The hose is very short, though, so despite a lot of pictures of these Shark vacuums showing a long hose that is easily extended, that is not the case. It just barely stretches any further than the way it appears at rest when the hose attachment is connected and upright on the vacuum. It's not a huge deal because the wand is long enough to reach our 9ft ceilings, but if you have anything much higher, you will be pulling the vacuum and knocking it over, or you'll have to detach the canister assembly and hold it while using the wand with the other hand. As long as your arms don't fatigue easily from being held aloft, using only one to hold the wand while the other is holding the canister, you might be ok. The unit is a bit top heavy, which might feel awkward for some--my wife included, but I quickly adapter and got used to it. The LED lighting on the base is very bright, and easily illuminates any dark corners for ease of use. Now for the worst part:

We just purchased the vacuum along with the Asurion protection plan in November of 2020. As of mid-July, I noticed that the vacuum wasn't picking up debris from the carpet. I tried a few more passes, giving the vac more chances as any lazy person would do, before simply picking up the bits of paper and lint by hand. I then tried going across my hardwood laminate flooring, to see if maybe the vacuum was losing suction or something. I didn't hear the telltale scrubbing noise, and then I realized the brush wasn't turning. Keep in mind, the vacuum has only been in my possession for 7 months, and we haven't used it very much in that time, though I keep the canister clean, and I've taken the thing apart to thoroughly rinse it and wash out the foam filter, so it definitely hasn't failed due to neglect or dirt buildup. I checked the very thin belt that drives the brush, and it was still flexible, supple, not overly loose. It looked like a brand new belt, with not a speck of dirt on it. I detached the hose, the wand, the canister, and put everything back together, but still nothing. The hose attachment still has suction and makes the usual vacuum noise, so it's only the brush motor assembly that's failed. I took the vacuum apart and checked the connections going into the main board, and to the motor. The unit is getting power all the way to the motor, so the motor is definitely dead. It doesn't have a burnt smell, so that's not the issue--there is some other internal failure that's caused it to not turn anymore.

I reached out to Asurion through the Amazon website, and it provided me a message saying that I was still within the manufacturer's warranty, so contact them, which I did. It was too late at night, and after getting the model number, serial number, and number stamped on the side of the power cord prong (?)
the Shark Ninja rep told me I'd need to call back earlier in the day to do a video call with them, so they could discuss warranty options. He told me that their warranty only covers the blower motor (suction), not the brush motor, so I'd need to go through Asurion (which already directed me to Shark Ninja). So I'm, being sent in circles because the part that failed isn't covered by Shark Ninja (it's their vacuum), and I guess it's too soon for Asurion, leaving me in the time-valley of despair. Because Shark Ninja had already told me they won't cover the brush motor assembly, I went out to a brick and mortar store, and bought another vacuum cleaner, anticipating the worst--$200 for the vacuum and however much for the Asurion warranty being a waste of money.

I still contacted Shark Ninja again today, and did the video call, wherein the young lady had me disconnect and reconnect the wand, hose, and canister, as well as show her the roller brush status light (which is off, since the brush isn't turning). All that to then offer to SELL ME a replacement brush assembly. I suppose I was expected to be thrilled that I was offered the part at 50% off the regular $89.99 price, and they'd waive the shipping (yay). I explained to her that it didn't seem worth it b/c the vacuum was still a fairly recent purchase, plus I had already bought the Asurion warranty, so it didn't make sense to then have to buy a replacement part, and then it could still fail in the future. She again offered me to buy the part, after providing the canned empathy statements (I know it's part of the job). I politely declined, and asked if they'd send an email or anything so I could have documentation that they could only offer to sell me another part for my vacuum. They offer no such records, but she said if I called again (why would I want to call again??) then they'd have a record of my previous interaction, so I'm left to take them at their word. This was not a good experience, and ultimately I've spent nearly $400 total between two vacuums just to have one that works. Before getting the Shark Ninja, I had never spent more than maybe 70 bux on a vacuum, and all the cheap ones lasted years before gradually failing. The previous homeowner where we currently live even left one of her old cheap vacuums, and it was still working fine, 6 years after we moved in, and I only threw it out because it didn't want to stand up on its own anymore. There's no telling how old our hand-me-down vacuum actually was, but it outlasted the Shark vacuum by far.

The attached pics show the shark vacuum, and the video is intended to illustrate that while the vacuum turns on, the brush does not turn at all. The brush indicator light does not turn on, so the vacuum knows that the brush is not turning. I feel like spending more has gotten me less, and I regret the purchase.

PS - we don't have any pets, and have never had any animals in our house, so the vacuum has never been overstressed from picking up any pet hair/fur/feathers, etc.

I want to give this 3.5 stars but that's not an option. I agree with many other comments on this vacuum, q.v.
To be clear I paid $270 for this model, in hope of a significant improvement over the vacuum it is replacing:
a just over $100 H------ WindT-----, which did not last 2 years, which had good suction, excellent onboard tool attachment, a cord that self-rewound but was just a little short (and shorter than advertised), and which ate belts until a brand new belt would not provide enough tension to power the brush.
The cord length on this Shark is adequate. It exits mid vacuum but there's a little slot at the top of the rewind which holds it higher to help keep the cord from entangling while in use (I think other commenters missed this); it's only moderately secure; the H had a tighter clip.
I am hoping the non slip pulley belt system on the Shark will prove much better. To be determined.
The suction is excellent. It picks up a lot of dirt and hair. And carpet. IMHO too much, there's only a low pile and high pile setting (in addition to the hard floor setting). The H had more options and using the low pile on a fairly worn carpet with this Shark resulted in a lot of carpet fiber wound tightly on the brush. Will this accelerate carpet wear?
The dust cup capacity is barely adequate, so yes this vacuum pulls up a lot of dust but don't be fooled by the imaging - the cup itself is a restricted area of the pod. It is easy to empty, making this a minor inconvenience.
It is easy to turn this vacuum on and off and to switch settings, a significant improvement over my former vacuum. It is also MUCH quieter. The cat even stayed on the recliner when I vacuumed the living room!
The low pile setting does result in a lot of pull when you're vacuuming. This takes some getting used to, as the beater head pulls you forward and often to the side , presumably the result of the swivel feature, which is otherwise great when you want it. "Mine" swings right easily; is a little awkward swinging left, but maybe that's me. As another commenter said, this pull can get a little tiring but the Shark is light, much lighter and MUCH less tiring than an H which had become no longer self-propelling.
I do not understand why Shark cannot design a vacuum to attach accessory tools handily. Only two tools can be attached: the crevice tool has stayed on snugly, the upholstery tool falls off occasionally. These tools work adequately though I wish there was a brush tool for cleaning dusty surfaces. The Pet Power Brush, the one I wish I could keep handy, does not attach. The name is also a misnomer. It is "powered" only by suction. The H had the same tool which stopped rotating, no matter how often I took it apart and cleared it thoroughly. I expect the same will happen. Please prove me wrong, Shark.
The parts do separate and attach rather easily, though it takes some acclimation.
If it holds up, I may come back and upstar it, but it better, for the price.

After going through several lightweight stick vacuums for pet hair at our house, I decided to spring for this bigger vacuum hoping that this would last longer. Well, it certainly is... bigger. It's got a great motor on it, with good suction. The design is versatile, and easy to switch between functions. However, it's a beast to wrangle. I have to remove the motor/dustbin part (canister?) from the long wand to be able to vacuum under any furniture. In fact, it's so heavy that I find myself using this vacuum two-handed: my right hand on the wand that vacuums the floor, and my left hand holding the detached canister. That said, it tackles all dry messes on any surface: kid crumbs, cat hair, and playground sand all come right up. I'm a petite woman, and I find myself procrastinating my vacuuming chores because this thing is so heavy and unwieldy. Oh, and the cord on this monster is shorter than the one on my old Shark stick vac, which means more stopping to unplug while moving around the house.

I purchased this vacuum to replace another Shark model I had, which did not have as many bells and whistle as this one but was overall a better vacuum. To be fair, I used this vacuum for several days before writing this review to give myself time to get used to it and to thoroughly understand the pros and cons. I'll start with the positives because there are few.

Lights! I think lights on a vacuum are a big deal. This one has lights on the power head and, surprisingly, a light on the handle which illuminates when you are using attachments. Great feature.

Suction! This has more suction than anyone needs but it deep cleans carpeting and makes it look revived.

Okay, on to the places it fell short. First, it's advertised as a pet vacuum and yet it does not have the self-cleaning brush roll that resists hair getting tangled around it. I didn't catch this when buying it, and I was very disappointed. I have three dogs, two of them rough coat collies with tons of long hair. The Shark I replaced was a Navigator with self-cleaning brush roll. It did not have lights onboard. I would trade lights for a self-cleaning beater bar any day.

As I mentioned above, this thing has major suction. The vacuum is heavy, and the powerhead pulls you forward. When pulling it back, you get a workout.

The second problem with suction is that you can't control it manually. There are three settings for this vacuum: hard surface, low pile carpet, and high pile/area rugs. When you choose the surface setting, that is the only suction control you have. There is no little vent that you can adjust to adjust the suction. This was the biggest drawback to this vacuum cleaner for me. I have rubber backed runners all through my house on hardwood. On the area rug setting, they get sucked up. On the hard surface setting, they don't get clean because the brush roll does not spin. With the Shark Navigator with self-cleaning brush roll, I was able to adjust my suction manually, still use the beater bar, and revive my runners between washings. You can't do this with this vacuum.

The hose is not long like you see in the advertisement and does not extend very far at all. The vacuum does tip over when using attachments, and the only way to remedy this is employ the lift-off of the canister. The downside is now you have both hands full carrying the canister and using the hand tools. All the advertisements for these vacuums show the vacuum far away and the hose extended up the stairs or someone vacuuming high above a window with the vacuum perched way below. This is false advertising.

If you are like me and you have mostly hard surface flooring, this is not the vacuum for you. It's overkill. This vacuum is great on carpeting. Period. Unfortunately, I only have one room of wall-to-wall in my home, and two rooms with wool area rugs. Everywhere else is bare floor with runners and latex back area rugs, which this thing is terrible with (but my last Shark was not). It's burdensome, too powerful to use daily without risk of shoulder injury or fatigue, and the lack of the self-cleaning beater bar for a pet vacuum is very disappointing. At this price point ($290), I am very disappointed in this vacuum. I should have purchased another Shark Navigator with self-cleaning brush roll.

I wanted to love this, but I don't for my situation. I paid for lights and a powerhead that drags me and fights me on the return on floors that don't need anything but a self-cleaning brush roll.

I have had many brands (including Dyson and MIele) of vacuums over the years, and when I finally gave in and tried Shark, I was shocked. I hated vacuums and wondered why no one made one that works *and* made sense. Turned out, Shark does. I got lucky in that the first model Shark I got was exactly the right one for me - not all of them are. The long cord, a flexible hose, the lift-away that allows me to get absolutely everywhere with one vacuum *without* having to retrieve extra parts, multi-floor options, not tipsy or clumsy, bagless, easy-to-clean rolls, self-propelled so it's not exhausting, cleanable filters.

Fast forward to needing a new one for another house, and I tried this one first. The price was right (second home, didn't want to break the bank) but it missed the mark with a few key things. The cord is too short (25' vs 30' - for me it makes a difference as I really detest unplugging and replugging a bunch). The machine is heavy and resists on the pull-back. Just vacuuming one area rug had me sweating and tired. (I am out of shape but not *that* out of shape.) It is not as easy to maneuver and turn as my other one. The roll is not easy to get out for cleaning - this is a big feature that not all Sharks have, and I have discovered that indeed, I must have it. I have a Shark that has the two tabs on the head that let you pop off the lid and pull the roller right out (from the top of the head, no need to lay the machine down to access the bottom). SO EASY. I end up having to clean my rollers once or twice each vacuum between the wool rugs, pet hair (long-haired cat, two short-hairs), and human hair. This vacuum's roller immediately filled up with wool and required me laying down the machine, turning the three tabs on the bottom, removing the plate, cleaning the roll in place, putting the plate back... etc. I was going to have to clean the roller far more than once or twice a vacuum with this one. I couldn't do it, not knowing there is a better option out there.

I did love the led light on the wand - fabulous!! I love the power lift-away - also a must-have to get under beds and dressers and when vacuuming the (hardwood) stairs, cobwebs, windowsills, etc. Oh, and I wanted one that has the three floor features, which this one has. Even so, I have a couple of lightweight runners that I was afraid would get pulled and eaten bc this is a touch too powerful. It is loud, but not terribly so (and I am sensitive) - one of my kids thought it was quiet.

So, short story long... this was *almost* a winner for the price, but I hate vacuuming and it wasn't going to compel me to pull it out and use it. I spent quite a bit more to get the Apex Duo and that one is *perfect* - it addresses all of the misses on this one ... plus it has the Duo which is awesome for hard floors.

We purchased the NV752 to replace our Shark NV501, which has worked well for many years. I believed that, with the higher model number and price, that the NV752 would be a step above our older NV501...not quite !
The suction power is comparable, but there are a few things I do not like...It comes with fewer attachments, the power cord is not quite as long, the elastic tubing...when disconnected from the unit is stiffer and possibly shorter?, also seems heavier and more difficult to use when cleaning a overhead vent, the power cord is now on the left side and it appears that the cannister does not have the same capacity.
If I were to make my purchase again, I would have stayed with the NV501...been happier and saved a few $$$.

Our Shark Rotator Professional finally gave out over Christmas. We have had two versions and they have all performed well.
I purchased the NV752 after reading reviews. We have five dogs and vacuum daily.
The vacuum arrived yesterday and it was easy to assemble. Unlike the Rotator Professional there is no “twist” valve to adjust suction. You adjust via a button for floor/carpet type.
I noted that it was not picking up debris/hair on the hard floors as well as our other Sharks. It did great on carpet. I also didn’t see a lot of debris in the dust cup. I removed the dust up and noted a lot of hair/dust around the foam filter.
I cleaned the filter and dumped the small amount of debris from the dust cup. I then opened the top and noted some debris. I inverted the dust cup and the above part fell out.
I simply placed it back in the bin and put away the vacuum.
Today, my wife attempted to vacuum and the above part spun around the dust cup like a tornado and made an awful rattle.
After looking at our other Shark dust cups - they have a similar part and it’s not removable.
I contacted Amazon and they put me in touch with Shark.
After 35 minutes of a circular conversation about filters and parts not in the dust cup I gave up. I called Amazon back and they are processing the refund. We will send this vacuum back.
We have had great luck with Shark and will go back to the Rotator Professional. I would avoid the NC752.

It does suck stuff up, as a vacuum should. It does not get under low items, like a chest of drawers, the container on the stick keeps you from being able to use the floor attachment to clean there. You have to use the lift away mode and get down on your hands and knees and use the attachments. If all you have is wide open spaces with nothing to vacuum under this would be a good vacuum. Who has that? It does get under dining room chairs pretty well. The "powered" pet brush is powered by the vacuum air flow turning a little turbine in the attachment that belt drives a brush. Does it work. Seems to work OK, but it is all plastic. How long will it last? I have a long haired cat in the house that is just a continual fur-ball producer, and it leaves hair on every cushion and chair. The hair winds up somewhat in the rotating brush, but you can cut, or pull it out if you don't wait to long. Also the floor attachment has some little rollers about 1/4 inch in diameter and 3 inches long that seem to wind up cat hair really well where the rollers meet the shaft running through them. Very hard to clean, and I doubt the rollers will actually be rolling for to long because of it. I got this vacuum on sale for $197, and that is just about all it is worth. I know I could buy a new canister vacuum that would be better, but it would cost quite a bit more. I don't vacuum that often. When my wife was alive she kept the house clean, I tend to let the dust and fur-balls build up quite a bit more before I vacuum. I do like the ability to remove the canister to dump the debris. I don't like the weight and the short hose. It is awkward to carry in the lift away mode, and the hose always seems to be in the wrong position, no matter how you try to carry it. Also, there is no attachment storage, so where do I keep these things? The old canister vacuum had storage built in - except for the powered floor attachment. Would I buy it again? No. Is it OK, for an older guy that only vacuums once in awhile? It's acceptable. My wife wouldn't keep it. I probably will.
