I will start by saying that the other reviews are spot on about the book being cute and rather informative. The facts are great and I came away, as an adult, with more knowledge than I had going in. What I did not like about the book is the way it is written and that is just based on my personal preference... nothing wrong with the book itself but I thought it was worth mentioning in case there are others like me out there. I really dislike when a book is written through speech bubbles and most of this story is written just that way. All of the different characters have something to say and they all say it in their own little speech bubbles. As a teacher of young children and a mom I find that the kids tend to lose interest in this type of format and I, as the reader, am having to point to each character to be sure the children understand who is saying what. I prefer a story that is written out, especially when reading aloud to more than one child at a time. With that being said, it will probably be an enjoyable and fun read for an older child who is able to read on his/her own.
Overall, a cute and informative story. Again though, I definitely thought it was worth mentioning the format as I didn't notice any of the other reviews mentioning it. If they had I definitely would have kept searching for another book.
