I have long (mid-back), somewhat fine, naturally curly hair that tends to frizz. I use Wen conditioning cleaner and Wen mousse and my hair is soft and doesn't feel like I have any product in it when I'm done. I always let it air dry, I don't even own a hair dryer. After a couple day my curls start to frizz and I thought this spray might help.
First, the bottle leaks when I press the sprayer. I'm not sure from where and I made sure it was on the bottle tight. It shipped loose in a box so I don't know if that damaged the sprayer (nothing visible) or if that's just the way it is, but my hand was covered in liquid as soon as I started to spray it on my hair.
The scent is nice, not overpowering. I generally prefer unscented products with the exception of hair products. Then I don't mind certain scents as long as they aren't floral. So this was fine in that regard.
I spritzed my hair a little bit and tousled it with my hands with my head upside down, then left for work. By the time I was midway in my drive to work I touched my hair and it was stiff. At work I tried to run my fingers through it a little just to loosen it up. No go. I didn't use that much of this spray but it really grabbed ahold of my hair and it had a strange feel to it besides being stiff. Didn't like that at all. I did observe that it kind of settled the frizz though and a little bit of my curl that was frizzing out was back. That part is good though not entirely what I expected. Maybe if I'd used more I would have had more curl but then it probably would have felt like my hair was glued.
Later in the day I put my head over again and shook my hair with my hands/fingers and it did loosen up a little. Just looking at it, it didn't look bad. It wasn't great but it was better than being frizzy but I couldn't stand the texture with the spray on it.
The next morning I used a wide tooth comb to get out any tangles before I shampooed my hair in the shower. Honestly, I couldn't wait to get this stuff out of my hair. I noticed that my hair was very dull and powdery (white residue). Again, I didn't use very much to begin with so I can't imagine what it would have been like had I used more. I could barely comb through it and when I shampooed and ran my fingers through my hair for tangles (which I always do) I ended up with a bunch of my hair pulled out and wrapped around my fingers because the tangles were basically glued in places even after rinsing really well to start.
This spray may work for some people but it's just not for me and I plan to return it. I also bought a small tube of Re-coil though so I will try that first, in case I need to return both.
