Recipe or production seems to have changed, and quality seems down. Might have made me sick

I grew up with several Loma Linda products and in the past few months they seem to have changed the recipes or something. These are the first Super Links I have bought in the past few months, and ordered from Amazon rather than visiting the only market in my city that carries Loma Linda in bulk for quarantine reasons. These have a somewhat different flavor and odor. I have observed similar changes in other Loma Linda products' flavors, leading to me thinking it's a recipe change or switch in production. Specifically, I ordered these along with Prime Stakes when my supermarket stockpile was nearly depleted, as though I had several cases of Prime Stakes left they had a similar change in flavor and I wanted to see if it was batch specific or seemingly a new recipe or other production change. Some people may prefer the changes in flavors of the products, but I do not, and I was hoping these would be a return to the previous version.
Additionally, though I did not notice when I opened the can, these Super Links have discoloration on one end and about 6 hours after eating a few for dinner I became extremely nauseous. Considering the other things I ate that day were part of larger packs or batches of food that I and/or my mother ate portions of on separate occasions with no ill effects, I am inclined to believe that the Super Links were the cause. It's possible that this specific can came from a bad batch, or that got damaged and contaminated with something in transit or upon my opening the can, but I am not going to risk ordering more for a while, if ever.
