TalentCell Rechargeable 72W 132WH = ~103.5WH

This review is for the TalentCell Rechargeable 72W "132WH" battery pack.
The pack is constructed from 9 Panasonic NCR18650B cells in 3s3p configuration. These are very good, premium cells. According to panasonic's datasheet(1), these are 3200mah cells at 3.6V. 3.6*3.2*9 = 103.5wh. So per the battery manufacturer datasheets, 132wh is impossible. In fact there are no 18650 cells in existence which will give 132wh - that would require almost 4000mah per cell. No such cells exist (as of august 2016).
In actual capacity measurements, I get ~100wh at 3A load, and 102.4wh at 1.6a load. So pretty spot on with panasonic's specs. But about 22% lower than what talentcell claims for this pack.
That said, I still think this is a fair deal. $65 is pretty cheap for a package of cells, bms, 9v and 5v outputs and regulators, case, and charger. The pack is constructed decently enough, the cells are quality cells. The BMS is basic but does the job. Charging cutoff is 4.2V exactly, and discharge cutoff is 3.0V.
Fully charged pack voltage is 12.6V (4.2*3). Do keep in mind that under load, the voltage drops pretty quickly to around 10.5v. Do not expect this pack to behave like a 12v lead acid battery. If you want to power 12v devices reliably, you'll want to use a boost converter.
If the product description were accurate and only claimed 104wh, this would be 5 stars. Minus 2 stars for inaccurate product description.
