Miss this series at your own peril!

If you're reading this book, obviously you've read the previous ones or are trying to decide if you want to get involved in a multi-part series. Trust me, you do! I've read several series broken up into half dozen books (or more), and for the most part have been disappointed. Either the characters become silly stereotypes, the plot becomes disjointed, or it just becomes plain old boring. Just the opposite here. Really! It just keeps getting better and better......until this book (book 4). 'The Last Command' really kicks it up a notch. The characters, plot, and action goes from being terrific to being compelling. Some characters take on new roles, some become more than they seem, some meet untimely (and unfortunate) ends, and the the storyline keeps you guessing without resorting to tired gimmicks. I'm already starting book 6, which is the final chapter, and am dreading this series coming to an end. I can see myself re-reading the entire thing again in a few months. If I needed to sum up this book (and the entire series) in one word, it would be 'smart'....or maybe 'compelling'....or maybe even.....well, you get the idea.
