If you are in a place of needing fresh and profound encouragement, words to balm your hurting places, a hand out of the self pity pit, or just a boost to elevate you to a place where you can let go of the past or just embrace a future, this devotional is it. I've highlighted so many "Wow" nuggets of wisdom and have shared them with others and go back to them to just let it renew me. A must have for any woman hurting, unable to let go of the past or current hurts or just wanting to love herself more and embrace a beautiful God planned future.

This book was good at first but then I got to day seven and that’s when I knew that I shouldn’t have bought a book for women... that’s written by a man. “Men tend to act out of what they perceive to be facts, while women tend to react out of their emotions.” Now I will continue to read the book but if I continue to see remarks like this I can’t say I will be happy. This is not for the 21st century young woman of God. If you are traditional and abide by the male/female roles then maybe you wouldn’t mind but I’m 19 and have come to like books like this that have a passage everyday in order to fit with my busy college lifestyle. I’m passionate about women’s equality and remarks like that are stereotypical and disrespectful.

For anybody who has read TD Jakes book WOMAN THOU ART LOOSED, you can imagine what the devotional book is on. The book takes you on a journey of being vulnerable before God, seeking forgiveness and forgive, getting rid of toxity in your life, surrender all areas of your life to God, witholding nothing and embracing your Identity in Christ. Its not a quick fix however! Its a journey that I enjoyed going through ( still am).

It’s as if Bishop was speaking directly to me. The things that I’ve been through throughout my life, at one point wouldn’t allow me to more forward. Without a trigger popping up out of nowhere.. Before buying this book. I was trying to deal with it and heal completely from my past. After all it was thirteen years ago. I wasn’t aware that I still had walls up! That I wasn’t sure how to push pass or knock down! I’m on page eighty eight as of today! If any of you are in need of a spiritual cleansing this most definitely is it!
