Alright, firstly let me say I love this series. It has always been super detailed, the scene perfectly set, etc. Really love all the characters, well except Asher. Anyways, this book is no different. Everything was writen very well. Secondly, this is the only book that really ticked me off. I stayed up til 3am reading this book because I couldn't wait to get me hands on it. I was about 3/4 the way through and seriously considered putting it down. I knew exactly where the end was headed. SO MAD! Lastly, this character Asher. Let me just say, I am from the deep south and this Asher character is super creepy. No one talks like this, about his Big Red or his grandpappy. Really drove me completely nuts and kind of ruined this series for me. I guess you can't please ever reader or whatever, but this book was so so so not suppose to end this way. I mean, ok, I get it. If Culley and Ava ended up together in the end, the series would have a hard time continuing. But you don't continue a series just because. This is what should have happened.....
1 Culley and Ava were at the parade and Asher shows up out of no where. Ava should have told him to go away and ran after Culley because he was so starting to break and turn into a great person. She should have ran crying after him telling him that she loved him and he would have stopped.
or 2 At the end where he is in the drive way pouring his heart out, Ava could have decided that she's immortal and that living on some iron infested pecan farm wasn't her thing and ran into his arms, getting married in the Grand Olde Ophry Gardens, and moving to Aussie.
Really upset neither of these things happened. They were two turmented souls that could have helped heal each other and its not fair they aren't together. AND then I read an chapter from book 6 and Culley's with a blind girl now......seriously. NO. I am kind of glad it doesn't come out til Sept. because it is going to take me that long to get over this betrayal. Completely ruined my monday.
