I purchased this booster seat and the the Britax because we needed two new boosters; one for my car and one for my husband's. I couldn't decide between the two so we decided to get both and would return the one we didn't feel was as safe. These two booster seats are comparable in comfort and safety features. The main difference between two are: the latch release for the Chicco is a simple pulling on the strap in the front of the base and the one zip removal of the cover. My husband decided to use the Chicco because his latch is a bit further down in his seat while mine isn't. The Chicco is wider in the base while the Britax is wider in the upper back support. My son said that he was comfortable in both. I posted a pic of both installed in my car to give an idea of how they compare size wise. Hopefully it holds up well.

Safe Seat, Double Cup Holder is a WIN!

Really glad we bought this for our 4-year old. He’s not quite 40 lbs yet. He really likes the double cup holder and it doesn’t sit as high up as our old booster seat, so he likes that. It’s a sleeker more upright design, so he has more leg room behind our seat. I liked this one so much I ended up buying 3 more in different colors for each vehicle he travels in. Great buy. Highly recommended. We own a Silverado and Enclave and it was easy to install in both vehicles. Also easy to install in his grandparents’ Tahoe and Impala. And FYI- he uses the regular seat belt across his lap and shoulder but it doesn’t rub up against his shoulder/neck thanks to the orange loop that is attached to the booster seat that prevents the belt from rubbing. Overall, we are all happy we went with the Chicco.

Seat Belt Issue

This seat seems more comfortable than the Evenflo my son uses in my car, but I wish I just had bought another Evenflo instead for my wife’s car. The seat belt does not want to stay inside the loop guide. It slips out very easily and has to be reinstalled for almost every ride. I never have to do that with the Evenflo. I imagine the seat belt is actually guided out of the loop due to how the plastic loop extends downward where it’s split for inserting the seat belt. Maybe there is an alternate loop out there or a DIY fix with a dremel. I was hoping too that the head rest would better support my son’s head when he falls asleep but it’s no better than the Evenflo in that regard. I love Chicco’s other car seats but this booster is less safe in my opinion due to the seat belt issue.

Unfortunately Had To Return

Needed to buy an easy to use car seat for my 5 year old granddaughter. She has started kindergarten at a school which does not provide bussing so we needed an easy in-and-out seat. Her "normal" carseat is the Chicco My FIt (which we love) but she cannot buckle/unbuckle herself for school drop off and pick up. She really needs to be able to do this as believe me YOU DO NOT WANT TO HOLD UP THE CAR LINE at school!!!

Since we have been a Chicco family (from Key Fit to My Fit) I really wanted to stick with a brand that has served us well, is highly rated for safety, and in my opion a quality product.

Received the Kid Fit, assemble it (super easy) had her sit in it to set to correct size and went to install in my car. Unfortunately this seat does not work in my car (Chyrsler 200C). The seat back of the car seat will not fit snugly up against the automobile seat. I thought if I removed the rear headrest it may work, but headrest cannot be removed. I have included a couple of pictures (one with my hand between the back of the KeyFit and the actual car seat. You can see how large a gap remain between the two. I had her sit in the seat, buckle her in with the shoulder strap and then pulled forward on back of the seat. It was scary how far the seat would tilt forward even with the sealtbelt as snug as she could stand it. In looking at the Chicco owners manual it clearly states that the back of the KidFit should fit snug to the auto seat.

I am disappointed that this seat would not work for us. I may be over cautious, but this is not the place to take a risk.

I have since done some more research on my particular car and what booster seats will work. Have ordered a Graco Turbobooster LX - as I wanted a seat with a latch system to hold it in place when not in use. Will do a follow up review when that seat is received.

Really like the Chicco KidFit and wish it would have worked. Will continue to use the Chicco MyFit which is installed in a GMC Acadia for everything but school drop off and pick up. Feel more secure with her in a 5-point harness system until she reaches the 65 lb. limit.

We have purchased 3 of these booster seats for our grandkids. They are fantastic! The grandkids have traveled on long trips in them and never complained about being uncomfortable. The seats have a good amount of padding, and the seat depth works well for my taller-than-average grandsons and granddaughter. Because they are tall for their ages, the adjustability of these seats is a plus! The built in cup holders can collapse into themselves, which can be handy if you are navigating to a seat in the back of a mini-van and want to avoid being "snagged" by a cup holder, or you're sitting next to the booster seat in the back seat and don't want spend the entire ride with a cup holder poking into your hip. In the event of an accidental food or beverage spill (or potential potty training incident), The cover of this seat is easy to remove, wash, and put back on. This is just a very well designed and safe seat. Love the seats, and love the quality of the Chicco brand!

So far I have bought 2 of these, probably 2 more soon enough. One child graduated from a 5 point and the other we upgraded from a lower cost booster seat. Both kids were excited for their new seats.
My biggest factor when choosing this particular seat was appearnt comfort and I wasn't disappointed, we frequently go on long drives with the kids and we have had to stop in the past when the cheaper car seats became uncomfortable. So far the kids are very pleased with how padded these seats are, they enjoy the gimick of the snack holder as well.
The seat assemblies fairly easily, note I did say assemblies, unlike most car seats this comes in a rather flat box with the seat back, seat, 2 armrests, 2 cup holders and the snack tray separate, took about 5 minutes to unbox and assemble. The latch system is pretty ingenious, push to click in and release with a leaver in the front, no more reaching into the unknown surrounded by cheap jagged plastic of old car seats to remove. All assembled the seat is fairly heafty, product description says 12 lbs and it's that or more. Your cars shoulder belt will probably remain trapped in the holder as it loop style unlike the little tab a lot use to hold it in position.
The way the belt routes under the arm rests can be a little difficult but so is every other booster so no reason to take away a star for something every seat has issues with. I am happy with the feel and weight of this seat and the extra padding the zipper version gives even over the basic kidfit seat. The snack tray is annoying as it gets in the way but it just sits in one of the cup holders sonits easily removable, my kids love having it there, otherwise I would of tossed it.

I love LOVE this carseat. Great cushion. Back support grows with child and later converts to booster. LIGHTWEIGHT! So easy to install. Two clips and it's attached to the seat (so when empty it doesn't fly forward when car stops.) Your car's over-the-shoulder with lap seatbelt is what protects your child and keeps him safely put. Comes with two (2) sturdy SILICONE cup holders that fold in if not in use and to give more room for other passengers. There is a $10 more expensive model that comes with an additional small tray accessory that fits into cup holder.This carseat is an excellent alternative to a 4 point harness that's too snug in the crotch. We just received this seat 2 days ago and we love it, so far! Assembly was a breeze and it was easy to install in our SUV! It is lightweight, which is a HUGE plus! My daughter says the padding in the seat is very comfy! I am also a huge fan of the latch clip system. That is one major reason why I decided to go with this seat! We had the Chicco NextFit for the past 4 years and never had any issues. I’m glad we decided to stay with the Chicco Brand!

If you can't get it straight ...

This was crazy easy to install, almost to the point where I felt maybe we skipped a step. I'm so used to those huge bulky car seats we've had to deal with the past several years before our son got old enough to use a booster. I really love this booster. It feels extremely secure, there is a latch system. The belt goes securely over their arm, over their belly into the snap on their left. Our son loves it. He says it's very comfortable & he loves that there's two cupholders and a snack holder (if you get the one kidzip plus). The color is very nice as well. We got the dark blue/teal with lighter trim. Looking forward to road trips. On a side note, if you can't get the booster to be completely flat up against the back of the seat make sure your seat isn't reclined. Some of the newer cars you're actually able to recline the back seats. Also because this is a booster the latch system does not need to be as tight as when it was a baby's car seat. You can loosen it a little - just a little, to straighten out the back of the booster. The seat belt itself will keep the child safe too. That is what I was told when I called about having that issue.

It should fit our kid who is on the shorter side at almost six years old and the absolute minimum weight for this seat and too short for some other brands, but we haven’t really used it yet so I’ll update if there are issues!
