The first story is the classic Bremen town musicians. Only the English translation is not really similar to the polish version. The second story is story-of-joab-esc parable. No imagination. Just misery. Overall The book leaves a lot to be desired.
The English translation of this children's fairy story uses such stilted and high-level language that many native English-speaking adults would find it difficult. I can't imagine trying to read it (or paraphrase it on the fly!) to any 3 to 10-year-old. The pictures are pretty enough, but don't buy this book expecting a story your children or grandchildren can enjoy.
I ordered this one and another bilingual book. Unfortunatly this one didn't arrive despite order truck said I got it. I'm very upset about that because I wanted my daughter to get familiar with polish language and the translation in the other one is very poor so I hoped that this one would be better.
