To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Although stunning on my iPad, it is miserable on my iPhone. Both devices use the Kindle app to read books and magazines, but apparently a special BBC Wildlife app is needed to see the magazine accurately on an iPhone. Unfortunately, the app requires another BBC magazine subscription that costs an additional $3.99 a month. Without the app, the magazine is a mess on an iPhone. The two pages above are screen shots of an article on sea anemones. In addition to messing up text, almost all the images that show up on the Kindle iPad version are absent. So all you see are pages of text, some of it looking like words were cut and pasted, others missing key letters in words. I would give this subscription five stars if it worked on iPhones without paying for another subscription for the BBC wildlife app.
